Default Ok guys , been out for a week how good is it?

I have yet to buy into this. Im burned out on Diablo 2 but need a game that keeps me hooked like it did. Is this the one? If so why?

So far I've played for 30+ plus hours and are maybe 10% done with the game. Haven't even touched PvP yet.

If you're looking for a game with an immense replay value (even for an MMO) this is the one.

"I have played for 80 hours total. Im taking my time" - It's been out for a week, that sentance contradicts itself XD However, is a good indication of what it's like

It's kind of like Diablo in the sense that you can play through the game with multiple characters and still enjoy it. You can try out many different class/skill combinations, and it's also comparable in the sense that it doesn't take too long to get your character to a high level or to the end-game areas.

It has wonderful graphics, fluid gameplay, and the battles can be fast-paced and exciting.

It's unlike Diablo in the following ways:
-There are rare items, but no godly Enigmas or runewords, just some rares with some interesting stats.

-Using 1-2 skills isn't going to get you very far. In Diablo most classes concentrate on 1-2 skills and that's about all they need to get through Hell difficulty. If you only use 1-2 skills in this game, you'd be lucky to get halfway through the game. This game is compared to Magic the Gathering alot, because you have a bunch of varying skills(cards) that can work together, compliment each other, help or hurt other player's abilities, and your skill setup is very crucial to how well you will do in the game.

-The later areas of the game get very difficult and you will have to adjust your strategies to deal with the challenges.

-Many, many more quests and missions.

-Teamwork is REQUIRED. You can get through most of the game by using a team of 'henchman'(mercenaries), but some missions require more players, and if you're playing with other humans then you NEED to work together. One wrong move from one party member can mean mission failure in certain situations.

-Trading isn't as popular or necessary as in Diablo, and the trading system isn't that great as of now.

-PvP is more about what skills you're using and how smart of a player you are, than whether or not you have all the l33t gear. Being a lvl 90 with an Enigma picking on lvl 20's isn't going to happen here.

-Many more PvP modes/options

-Much bigger world, more interesting, more colorful...beautiful

-Other stuff...someone else wrap this up. :P

~30 hours in, only up to Lions Arch with heaps of quests I've not completed. It's really starting to get hard though, and I need to get better. I don't play many rpg games, but I get a similar addiction to this as I did for Diablo 1 and 2.

I Played D2 for about 5 years.

This game captures the excitement of D2 while eliminating its bad points.

Major differences:

1) Less of a grind
2) Skill and tactics are more important than items overall.
3) Much greater character variation.
